Passing of Ernesto Mendoza

On Monday August 11th, Ernesto Mendoza lost a 5 year battle with pancreatic cancer.  He passed away in his sleep resting at a home he resided at. He was under Hospice care for three weeks prior to passing.

Ernesto joined the scouting family in 1992 as a Cub Master in Pack 298 in Frisco. He served in Bois D’Arc, Arrowhead, and Southern Sky Districts until he was unable to continue in 2009. He served Troop 298 as a committee member and Assistant Scoutmaster, and then joined Commissioner Service to assist units.

He retired from Pizza Hut after 15 years serving as driver, shift manager, and Assistant Manager.  He was always ready to serve when needed with a smile and kind word.  He was appointed to the Frisco Senior Center, sang in both the church choir and the Senior Center choir He was an accomplished accordionists playing when invited.

A memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Preston Road in Frisco at 4:00pm Saturday, 8/16/2014.  We ask that you pray for him, and in lieu of flowers to make a monetary donation to Circle Ten Friends of Scouting in his name.
